Tubing Slips & Spiders

Vanco Tubing Slips and Spiders are available in a complete range of sizes and types.  They are designed to handle each particular range from the shallow stripper well of 800 ft. to depths of 10,000, 12,000 and 15,000 feet.  The simplicity of the Vanco design offers unequalled versatility.  With one spider, you can, by adding the proper size slips or segments, handle strings ranging in size 3/4" to 3", including all intermediate sizes.  Changing or replacing segments can be done with a screwdriver in three or four minutes.  The exclusive dovetail mounting avoids any possibility of segments falling out or becoming malfunctioned.  Both slips and Spiders are of sturdy construction and have no excess "Gadgets" or small parts to become displaced or required extra time and attention.

Safe

Each segment is independently floated in a drop forged steel handle, positively held yet free to move in any direction, permitting each and every segment to seat perfectly and to carry its share of the load.  Bearing area on the front and back of segments is several times that required to support the recommended load.

Quick Operation

With the spider in place on the casing head, the slips are set on the spider, handles extended.  Pulling the handles together sets them around the pipe, and, as the tubing is lowered, they automatically seat themselves securely in the spider.  Should the tubing be hanging to one side, the setting of the slips positively centers it in the spider.  Only one inch of travel of the tubing is sufficient to set the slips.  When coming out, the operator grasps the handles and permits the slips to rise with the tubing until they have cleared the top of the spider, then the handles are opened and the slips drop into position on top of the spider.  the elevator does all the work, and tubing jobs can be done in only a fraction of the time ordinarily required.

Economical

The remarkable economy afforded by the use of Vanco Tubing Slips is primarily the reason why they are found on so many leases today.  The alloy steel, heat-treated slips give years of service without attention.  They may be re-dressed any number of times, giving new service and new life each time.  The distribution of the load over a large bearing service, on both front and back of segments, avoids premature wear and expense.  The absence of superfluous levers, triggers and what-nots is why Vanco Tubing Slips can be given the roughest of handling without damage.
